Yates Construction provided construction services for the “Sportsman’s Paradise,” a 165,000 SF Cabela’s in Gonzales, Louisiana. With two floors spanning over three football fields, the mega-store includes a 49,000-gallon walk-through aquarium stocked with freshwater species of fish native to Louisiana, as well as a museum-quality wild game diorama in an African setting and a two-story mountain scene – complete with running waterfalls, stream, and trout pond. To support entertainment and educational programs, the facility has two functioning conference rooms. The store itself displays a wide range of products including sporting goods, hunting and fishing items, camping and hiking equipment, sportswear, and shoes. Other features include a 6,400 SF museum, furniture gallery, gun library, restaurant, general store, archery shop, gift shop, laser arcade, shooting gallery, boat showroom, bargain cave, and boat maintenance shop with a lake and boat launch ramp onsite.
