Plant Lansing SmithYates Construction provided design-build services for the 574-megawatt Combined Cycle Unit 3 project at the Lansing Smith Plant. This project consisted of civil work, all structural, mechanical, equipment erection, instrumentation, startup and commissioning of the facility. The sitework and underground portion of the contract included 250,000 cubic yards of cut and fill site preparation, piling, underground piping and electrical conduit, major and minor equipment concrete foundations, cooling tower basin and pump structure, miscellaneous concrete foundations, and storm water run-off ponds. Yates Construction installed two GE natural gas turbines and generators, a GE steam turbine and generator, two Vogt Nem heat recovery steam generators with stacks, two inlet filter houses, all other ancillary equipment, electrical equipment and wiring, all instrumentation and controls, all piping and valves, all structural steel, insulation, painting, checkout and start-up.
