Yates Participates in SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference
Yates Construction supported the next generation of skilled trade professionals by participating in the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC), held in Atlanta from June 23 to 27, 2025. This annual event showcases excellence in career and technical education, bringing together over 17,500 students, educators, industry partners, government officials, administrators, and more to promote skilled trades and help cultivate America's future workforce.
The NLSC provides a dynamic platform that highlights the vital role of skilled trades in our nation's economy. The event offers students the chance to showcase their skills, connect with industry leaders, and explore potential career paths. Over 6,500 state champions competed for national recognition in 114 skilled and leadership competitions. The week-long conference also featured SkillsUSA TECHSPO, the country's largest technical education trade show, which showcased cutting-edge industry technology and resources.
Yates Construction had a booth, which allowed us to interact with students, demonstrate rebar tying techniques, and answer questions about career opportunities. Yates also played a role in the conference’s Carpentry Competition. Employees Phillip Manning and Donald Craft volunteered their time and expertise as judges for this year’s competition, which featured 72 talented competitors.
Yates' participation in the NLSC underscores our commitment to cultivating the next generation of skilled trade professionals. Investing in skilled craft professionals is essential for building a stronger construction workforce. We were impressed by the talent and dedication displayed by the competitors and look forward to continuing our support of SkillsUSA and its mission to empower future leaders in skilled trades.
