Mill Conversion Project

Yates provided multi-discipline engineering and detailed design services, including civil, structural, and architectural (CSA), mechanical and piping, electrical and instrumentation, and project development for the Domtar Mill Conversion project. The conversion added natural gas and OCC biomass as combustion fuels, enhancing the boiler’s ability to efficiently burn biomass, sludge, and OCC rejects. At completion, the mill emerged as one of North America’s premier lightweight containerboard facilities, capable of producing high-quality recycled linerboard and corrugated medium.
