Naheola Woodyard Upgrade

Yates Construction provided engineering, preconstruction, and construction (EPC) services for a woodyard in Pennington, Alabama. The mill's design enhances chip supply efficiency and productivity to the digesters by replacing the existing logline with a state-of-the-art Andritz logline. The project scope included the installation of log cranes, chip screening facilities, a new stacker/reclaimer, conveyors, and supporting equipment. Additionally, the project included reconfiguring the existing chip storage and retrieval systems for softwood and installing a new truck tipper for unloading purchased hardwood chips, with provisions for two truck scales. The woodyard manages all aspects of log handling, chipping, chip storage, screening, and delivering hardwood and softwood chips to continuous and batch digesters.
