Dames Point Terminal

Dames Point Terminal

Yates Construction provided construction services for the Port of Jacksonville’s newest container terminal “horizontal” port infrastructure. This project included the container storage paving area, two 1,200-foot berths, and associated dredging along the terminal’s waterfront. Over 1.5 million cubic yards of dredge debris from the St. John’s River were removed and used to bring the site up to grade elevation with the excess and spoils being deposited into holding cells. A docking facility over a half-mile long was constructed along the shoreline to accommodate ships unloading cranes. Yates Construction installed all underground utilities including storm water conveyance, water pipes, sanitary sewer pipes, conduits, and duct banks for power and communications. The site received approximately 90 acres of concrete paving and striping.
