Kickapoo Hotel & Lucky Eagle Casino
Yates Construction served as the Program Manager/Construction Manager for Phase I of an ambitious 5-year, Capital Improvement Program, as well as the General Contractor for a new 250-guest room hotel and demolition of the existing Lucky Eagle Casino dome to make way for the casino expansion/renovation. The casino expansion of approximately 99,000 SF included 2,500 gaming machines, a new poker room, main cages, fine dining, players club and VIP lounge. Combined, the facilities associated with the hotel and casino included restaurants, retail, meeting rooms, fitness center, center bar, stage, 1,000+ additional land-based parking spaces, and water and sewer infrastructure upgrades. Yates also served as PM/CM for additional services related to the CIP including the medical clinic, community center, government building, gas station/convenience store and Kickapoo Gaming Commission office building. Recognizing the tremendous opportunity to hire and train local tribal personnel for this comprehensive building program, Yates also created and implemented an innovative Work Force Development Program to provide meaningful opportunities for KTTT tribal members to be a part of creating their own legacy, and resulted in their providing 20,000+ man-hours of work on the project.
