Telecommunications Center

Telecommunications Center

Yates Construction performed construction services for the Mississippi Telecommunications Center, a high-tech, state-of-the-art conference and training facility in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Playing a major role in the revitalization of the downtown area, the project is versatile in its design and will be used in many primary events for hosting and meeting purposes. The building’s facade includes 818 exterior window panes and 351 interior panels, all cut from one Anigre tree. The Telecommunications Center includes multiple meeting rooms, eight conference rooms with motorized screens, multi-media projectors, Category 6 fiber cabling, and will utilize many state-of-the-art technologies for video and audio. The facility’s theater is comprised of a fixed screen of 23 x 13 feet, surround sound, multi-media projector, 382 tiered-seats with folding desktops that are wired for media and power, and other data inputs. An open 22,000 SF, column-free event space and a flexible, sound-proof, movable wall divider system with the capacity to accommodate 800 people as well as a full-service catering facility were also included in this project.
