Yates Construction provided construction services for the Power River Basin (PRB) project. This project consisted of hot-to-cold-side conversion of two 880 megawatt units to facilitate the burning of PRB coal. Work included demolition of structural steel and duct-work, replacement of structural steel and duct-work, installation of new SO3 process and associated piping systems, and removal and replacement of duct-work. The boiler and precipitator were upgraded and electrostatic precipitators were refurbished on units one and two to facilitate the burning of coal. The project also included approximately 85,000 SF of existing duct demolition, field fabrication and installation of new duct and structural steel, as well as removal and installation of collector plates, the perforated plate, and new turning vanes.
